Spark of Inspiration

I was at Barnes & Noble recently. YES, looking at books or that’s what I thought I was going to be looking at.

I went in with a clear intention of what I wanted to find. I was on a mission, be quick about it — IN and OUT. However, my eye was distracted by ALL the side tables they have.

I love Legos, puzzles and what really caught my eye was this Memory Game. Wow, it was a deluxe version of the game I played long ago, it had beautiful matches. I immediately snapped a photo and sent it to my daughters. “Look at THIS Memory Game,” I said.

My daughters and I had a memory game that we played constantly when they were little. In our particular game, we had our “favorite” matches, ie frog, bird, elephant, etc. We were excited when we won our favorite match.

It was great fun. While a simple concept, this game does test your “memory skills.” Of course, having played the game a lot there were a few pieces with a bent corner or frayed edge. We laughed if someone made a match with one of those, it was “too easy,” we’d say. “You KNEW that was the elephant behind that card.”

So, I’m smiling as I write this post. The Universe has spoken! It’s time for my daughters to have their own Memory Game. Christmas will be here before we know it! This will be the PERFECT surprise gift. This would be better than another pair of socks, right.
