Spark of Inspiration

The Universe works in mysterious ways. There are special periods in life where we are magnets. Some might even say, “We have God’s favor.”

During these special times, when we focus on some “desire/goal” the Universe sends a sign guiding us on our path. What’s interesting about this period though is that the Universe “sends the sign” based on whether or not it’s part of our destiny. You laugh?? I think this is TRUE.

Many times over the years, I’ve tried to tap into my subconscious. Focus the experts would say, tell your subconscious what you want, believe they would say. NOTHING would happen! Absolutely, no sign, no nothing.

I gave up! No more talking to my subconscious. You are not my friend, I told my subconscious. A friend, a “good” friend would help.

THEN, months or years later, I can’t tell you the exact amount of time, I would THINK of something I needed help with. Guess what? Suddenly, my subconscious was my friend. I was a magnet, signs / coincidences for different things would come constantly.

Here’s a very funny sign that came the other day.

I’m in a writing group. I have an idea for a story, but the main character is an adult rather than a child. I was conflicted, I knew that “normally” in a children’s book, a child should be the main character.

I spoke to myself. If I’m the writer, shouldn’t my story be the way I want it to be? Should I be swayed by others’ opinions? Should I follow the normal convention of only a child as a main character in any children’s book?

I went to the bookstore looking for ideas. I saw a table full of children’s middle grade books. I looked down and saw this book.

The name, “NONI,” caught my attention. I laughed out loud!

Two coincidences. One, Noni is what my children call my mother. Two, Noni, an adult, is the main character of the book with two children as sidekicks.

A sign – follow my gut instinct, an adult CAN be the main character.

The Universe has spoken!
