Are you familiar with Steven Pressfield, the author, whose first novel was The Legend of Bagger Vance (1995). It was made into a film in 2000 directed by Robert Redford.
Another book he wrote, Gates of Fire (1998), is taught at the United States Naval Academy, the U.S. Military Academy and the Marine Corps Basic School of Quantico. In 1966, Pressfield served as an infantryman in the U.S. Marine Corp.
If you follow his Writing Wednesday messages, you’ll soon find out that he likes to research/talk/write about the warrior/hero type of character. I like his energy and writing style.
Recently, he came out with some YouTube videos, where he walks us through The Foolscap Method. It’s a clever way of coming up with the parts of your novel. His friend, and mentor Norm Stahl, who passed recently, taught him this method. It’s really great! There are 14 quick videos, approximately 2-4 minutes long. WORTH IT! You’ll have the parts of your story outlined in record time.
Writers helping writers. If you watch the videos, tell us what you think.
