Artist, Amy Corson — Using OLD Cassette tapes…

I recently saw an article in My Modern Met, “Artist Creates Portraits of Famous Musicians Out of Cassette Tapes.” Amazing, really. The picture of Elton John first caught my attention. Amy Corson, the artist, captured his look perfectly. You can find her on Instagram, more portraits there.

I wish I had known about this art project years ago. I cleaned out my closets. Like Corson, I had old cassette tapes too. I would have loved to send them to her, so she would continue creating portraits.

While I’m not an artist, maybe I could have created a lion.

Big fluffy “cassette tape” mane. I could have managed that!

Cheers to great artwork!

Yes, I thought it was so clever. I remember opening a box with old tapes in it. They had unraveled and were a big mess. In some ways, old things come back to us, right. 😉
