Spark of Inspiration

Today is St Nicholas Day. I received an email from Kathe Wohlfhart of America, she sells German Christmas ornaments. She has retail shops all over the world now. .

My ex/husband’s family were from Germany. Every year, they put up a special Christmas Pyramid. It looked something like this photo. Trying to find the right candle size was always challenging. So, their relatives from Germany would send them. It’s a wonderful tradition.

Of course, I also fell in love with their Christmas ornaments. Food, they always had potatoes and red cabbage. Coming from an Italian background, red cabbage was new to me. Now, I get in mood for red cabbage.

A favorite cake for every birthday was the marzipan Princess cake. This was new to me too. Growing up, we never had marzipan cake.
