It’s 2024, the start of a new year. Bloggers are posting their goals and special word for the year. I gave this some thought.
Mental Health – It’s such a big topic.
What we feed our brain determines our mental health.
In December, I took a break from WordPress. Why? That’s what I had to find out. Why was logging into WordPress becoming an unhappy chore.
I spoke to a fellow blogger about this. He said he ONLY follows bloggers who post “ONCE A WEEK.” He posts once a week, this works for him. Brilliant idea!
Another Blogger friend said, “She ONLY follows Blogs that bring her joy. So, she often follows/unfollows Bloggers if there is a shift in her enjoyment of reading a blog.”
In December, I missed three days of logging into WordPress and I was flooded with posts. Again, WHY? Because I was following too many posts that Blog Daily. It was overwhelming.
The dilemma was… Do I go back and read ALL of those posts? That would take a long time OR do I just post and not read them. If I do that how would my fellow Bloggers feel?
I noticed a trend last year in the posts I was following. They had turned melancholy. I decided to continue my break from WordPress and not read anything. My mind felt happier and more creative.
So… What is my GOAL for 2024? Finding JOY in everything.
Taking advice from Marie Kondo. For whatever I am doing, whether it be organizing, writing, exercising, moving on from friendships (sometimes we need to do this) and so on. Asking myself, “Does this Spark Joy?” If not, be at peace, move on or do something different, no guilt.
