Writing…How to dig deep!

I’m working on some Children’s books. Sometimes I am inspired, other times I procrastinate. Why? Good question. I think it’s because I’m not forcing the ideas, instead hoping for the light bulb moment. As we know, that could take a while.

When I get in these slow moods, where the light bulb is not coming on, I go to YouTube and listen to videos from Master’s in the writing field.

I’d like to share this clip from Jerry Jenkins on “How to Write a Book: 13 Steps From a Bestselling Author.” It’s very good. I often go to his clips.

What I like about his message here is staying focused. Going the distance, being disciplined, having a plan.

Are there authors that you find motivating? Would love to hear about them.

Have a great weekend! Happy writing.

True, somehow, I’ve never gotten around to reading Stephen King’s words of advice. Years ago, I saw Sidney Sheldon on a talk show. He walked us through how he wrote a story. So, interesting. Since he had been writing for so long, it was easy for him. He had the formula, ie parts of the story down.. then he just needed to start writing.

  2. Focus is very important, Monica. I too agree. On a lighter note, it’s a good idea to write a book on how to write a book.
