It’s Chinese New Year or as some Asians say, “Lunar New Year.” It’s always tricky to know how to refer to this holiday, so that we don’t offend someone.
Years ago, I had a Vietnamese hair dresser. She corrected me, she said that it’s the “Lunar New Year” celebration. Her reasoning was that all Asians celebrate Lunar New Year, so it should not be called, “Chinese,” as if the Chinese created this holiday. She really was irritated about this.
I was at the store and I saw this box, “God of Fortune, Set of 5.”
I had a funny thought, to buy the box, and put one God in each of my rooms. That should increase my chances of good fortune, in all parts of my life, right.
This is the year of the Wood Dragon. They say it will brings improvement, abundance and evolution. I saw this beautiful gold box with animals from the zodiac filled with brandy. I don’t drink brandy; otherwise, I would have liked to buy this. I took some photos of them.

If we are LUCKY, we might receive a RED envelope from someone. In one of my medical supply chain jobs, one of the employees gave certain people a red envelope. I received one. It had $1 inside for Good Luck! I felt honored.
Happy Chinese / Lunar New Year!
