Happy Valentine’s Day!

Last year, I read about people getting really depressed around Valentine’s Day. They didn’t have a partner in their lives, so they hated the holiday. They felt that “everyone” was getting a gift except them.

I’ve never felt that way. Let’s face facts, even if you have someone in your life, that doesn’t guarantee you’ll receive a valentine gift.

I learned long ago to treat myself. If I want flowers, I buy them. If I want chocolates, I buy them. Guess what, it’s also fun to “give gifts” to family and friends. Make others happy brings joy!

THEN… We might just receive a SURPRISE from a friend!

Look what I received. Fuzzy Socks in the mail. Perfect, since it is still winter and COLD here.

Here’s to ALL of us making this a special day in some way or another.

I surprised my daughters with a card and a “little money” to buy themselves their favorite coffee / danish at the coffee shop. Due to inflation and not going to coffee shops much anymore, THAT is a TREAT!

Happy Valentine’s Day! ❤️

  1. I’ve only gotten depressed over the loss of one love – my son. 2/14 was his birthday.

GP, sending you a HUG today! I have an Angel candle, I will light it today in honor of your son. I’m sure you’ll receive a sign from him today. A bird might chirp, a song might play… “something” and you will smile and know he’s reaching out. It reminds me of “A Wonderful Life” movie, when the bell rings on the xmas tree and Clarence gets his wings. Love is with you today, starting with this post. 💕

Thank you, Luisa! The sun is shinning, it’s going to be a BEAUTIFUL day! Oh, and it is Lent too. People are talking about the nonsense they give up… Really, they are trying to break their own bad habits versus giving up for Jesus/God. My opinion, of course. 😉 Instead of giving up something, I think people should do one kind deed a day for someone else. Imagine the beautiful stories that could be told of goodness during Lent.

      1. I think that your idea is wonderful. If, instead of giving up something, people did one kind action a day for someone else, the world would be less selfish.💐💐💐

  3. Happy Valentine’s Day, Monica! For me a smile is the best gift, as gift’s business here has been commercialised now.
