Sketching Tea Cups, Online Course – Liz Steel

For a few months now, I’ve wanted to sign up for Liz Steel’s “Tea Cups – Online Sketching Course.” I learned about her sketching courses from a fellow blogger. What’s nice about the tea cup course is that it is a “go at your own pace” model.

What’s been holding me back? Well, I don’t have paints, brushes or water color sketch pad. As I am not an artist, this is all foreign to me. She does have a list of supplies. However, there are so many different brands of paints, etc. I felt over whelmed.

I just have to dive in, not worry about buying the “perfect” supplies. What I realize is that it’s all about learning, so if I don’t have the perfect brush (strokes are too thick) or the perfect gold color for the rims, I’ll realize this and know what to ask for at the art supply store.

Another bonus, it will be fun going to thrift stores and antique shops looking for new tea cups to sketch. I really want a blue and white tea cup. My tea cups will be a good start.

2024 is the year to embrace new skills, new adventures. I received the reminder email regarding the tea cup course for a reason. Conquer my art fears. It could be I’m really good. Who knows!!

So… I’m signing up AND dusting off old tea cups!

It’s time to get started!

  3. It’s always better to learn new skill or art. One of my friends does mobile painting very skillfully. I’ll also give a try.
