Two years ago, I was in Rome, I stopped at the Vatican. Outside the Vatican they had different shops selling religious items. I went in, saw the traditional Angel and bought a few.
The ten I bought were not real gold, but they looked very nice “like” gold.
Imagine my surprise, no horror, at opening my pouch to share my Angel with a friend who is ill and I find a tarnished Angel. It looks like I found this Angel in an archeological dig.
I was disheartened and then embarrassed. I have given six Angels to friends of mine, letting them know the Angel was from the Vatican. What would they think when they opened their pouch one day, in need of comfort from the Vatican, and they see the same thing I saw.
I’m saddened to think that shops near the Vatican sell these types of items. For them it’s a business, they will never see the tourists again, so they don’t care. But for tourists, we are buying a symbol of God, the church, something sacred and holy from the Vatican.
Well, my Angel cares!
By accident, imagine, I came upon a YouTube video that described how to clean gold jewelry. How weird was that? This was a SIGN, try to clean the Angel.
While this is not real gold, I gave it a try. Line a container with aluminum foil, mix 1 tbsp baking soda, 1 tbsp salt, 1 cup boiling water together. Then add gold jewelry, let sit 1-2 minutes, then take out.
THIS WAS THE RESULT…

A-M-A-Z-I-N-G! It’s not absolutely perfect, but I like my Angel, in contemplation. Giving a look of, “HAVE FAITH, IF WE THINK ABOUT IT, THERE IS ALWAYS A WAY!”
This concoction worked. My anger and frustration lifted.
I’m going to think of this as my ancient Angel. Here is the back, it even says, “Vaticano” on it. The back side really looks like it’s from an archeological dig… Pompeii maybe, Pisa, Firenze?
WHO says miracles don’t happen? I had one, my Angel is restored.

Wishing you ALL a blessed day, full of surprises and miracles along the way!
