Today is the Solar Eclipse. As I was driving in Chicago around 7:30 AM, the sun was so bright. It was huge, Driving was a bit challenging, because of the brightness.

In the city from a window, I took this nice shot, Lake Michigan in the background. Too bad the IPhone has the green dot in the photo.

The Solar Eclipse is estimated to be viewable between 12:51 – 3:22 PM CDT. This is in Southern Illinois. Will we see anything up in our area closer to Lake Michigan? We will see.

      Chicago is a little far North. I think they said we would only see a partial eclipse. The news is great, because the NASA folks are on, they are so excited about this. Oh, great marketing, they were even asking people who are interested to send applications, NASA is accepting them. GREAT!! So nice not to hare political news for a bit. Wish we could focus on more interesting things in the news. Sigh…

      Yes, I was trying to be careful. We weren’t in the full path of the eclipse, so better to watch on TV.

      I didn’t’ see the full eclipse either, it was too far South, but I could see in the morning that the sun was full and so so bright.
